Congress closing + party leader speech.

Azul everyone,

I hope you all had a good time. It has been a constructive congress, resulting in interesting discussion, a manifesto that represents our vision for Talossa and a candidate list to be proud of. Many thanks to Sevastain Pinatsch, our excellent party whip last term and good luck to Breneir Itravilatx who will be taking over from also. Also thanks to Tric'hard Carschaleir, who will be working on his thesis this year and therefore wont have time to sit in the Cosa next term. We will miss his presence. Good luck to the Senators endorsed by the MRPT and the new candidates for the Cosa. I'm confident you will serve Talossa to the best of your abilities. Lastly, many thanks to everyone, members and guest speakers, who helped make this congress a succes.

Later today, our party leader, Lüc da Schir will be adressing us (I hope. Coordination has been a bit shaky this week).

Before that a few practical points.

There is still a motion being voted on. I assume Lüc will close the vote when appropriate and report the results to the SoS. There is no more time for new motions during this congress.

Things that still need to be sorted out (like provincial candidate lists for some provinces) will have to be sorted out internally. (Please note that the party needs to be registered separately in Maritiimi-Maxhestic (At least, I think so).

I will actually be away untill sunday, so I wont be of further help to the party during the start of the elections. (I really need a break )

And on that bombshell, it is time to end. I hereby close the fourth congress of the Moderate Radical Party.

Fellow Moderate Radicals and supporters of the MRPT, dear guests,

As our Fourth Congress draws to a close, I'd like to thank everyone who made it happen, Congress Leader Glüc da Dhi and registered party members. I'd like to thank those who agreed to stand for election in the Cosa, with many good wishes to Sevastáin for his own Senatorial elections, and let me pay tribute to our fellow former leader Glüc da Dhi who is standing down as Senator for Cézembre after more than four years at the helm. His political activeness was unmatched and his contributions countless.

It's been a nice month of proficuous discussion which itself closed seven more months of exciting political happenings. We took part in a very successful coalition which was an example of unity of different parties for the common goal of democratic reforms and progressism. The resulting government has been competent and united and an example for any government to come. I'm proud to have been the leader of it and I'm way prouder of our accomplishments - judicial unclogging, no sinecurae ministries, abolition of the Semi Permeable Wall, liberal reforms (Privacy, Anti-Espionage), Memrise course on el bel Glheþ Talossan, a new website for Talossa are just some of those.

I’m personally very positive about the upcoming General Election. As it always has, the MRPT once again presents itself as the only party with a very detailed Manifesto, clear principles and a single, united course of action to follow, the one of progressist yet reasonable reforms, constitutional monarchism, defense of individual freedom, support to Talossan companies and reform of provincial catchment areas. We are very clear on where we stand.


We’ll push for mandatory Cosa candidates lists for parties, so that you as a voter will always know who are you going to vote for, while allowing parties a degree of flexibility to deal with any (un)expected events regarding MCs. We’ll complete the Provincial Catchment Area Reform as a priority. We plan to set up limited, small-scale public funding of Talossan companies to stimulate the creation of more companies and the development of new services and offers by existing ones.


That said, I’m sure the next one is going to be an exciting election. I do hope that the MRPT’s record as a successful party of government in the last eight months will be acknowledged by the voters – nevertheless, I’ll always remember these months at the helm of Talossa’s government as a happy period of proficuous collaboration with my fellow Ministers and of a number of invaluable contributions to the nation.
