Everyone has until September 1st to vote on these two amendments to the Manifesto:
1. Add to the Laws of the Kingdom "The MRPT supports the adoption of the Organic Law proposed by the Committee for Organic and Statutory Reform, but is willing to work with the proponents of other proposals if doing so would result in a new Organic Law which both rids the Organic Law of its many provisions which are better suited to statutory law, and either advances the ideals of the MRPT or retains most of the current features of Talossan Democracy and Monarchy."
2. Add to the Laws of the Kingdom "The MRPT does not believe that frequently amending the Organic Law is inherently bad, as doing so allows Talossa to experiment with and perfect government systems."

1. CON Difficult one. I understand where its going and I dont even neccesarily disagree with it. I just think that essentially we will at some point arrive at a point where we have to choose between the commission proposal and Vs proposal. We can't have both, and since Vs is by far the most dramatic change I believe the best strategy is to wait and see where that goes first. If it fails, or if we don't support it, we can always go with the commission proposal (though that one isn't finished either until we know what will happen with El Lexhatx). I also have been thinking of a way to cut the commission proposal into a series of amendments, cause I do still believe that is possible (not with Vs proposal though).
2. PER

I don't see how this thinking conflicts with my amendment. If you want to amend the Organic Law piecemeal, then wouldn't you want to pass the Conmittee proposal, which mostly preserves the status quo in terms of content, so substantive changes can be made later, instead of backing Vs proposal which makes all kinds of changes all at once? Note that the amendment provides a lot of opportunity for working with V It's important we put our policy on a new Organic Law in our manifesto since it is probably going to be a big issue in the next term.

But passing the committee proposal now would be pointless if we're gonna pass Vs proposal later, while it does require us to wait with orglaw amendments until its finished if the plan is to do it this term and hopefully do a midterm referendum. It therefore makes sense to me to wait for the vote on the more substantial change first. As long as we havent decided against Vs proposal yet I believe we should wait and this amendment seems to commit us to supporting it regardless of whether we support Vs proposal or not.

I don't think this amendment ties us down to supporting the Committee plan no matter what, since it explicitly says that we will work with other plans if we can get what we want. It just states what our opening position is going into the next session, which, again, I think is important.
