Every MRPT member that wishes to hold seats in the next Ziu, please post your name in this thread and which spot you plan to get (consult the MRPT Digest for more information on this). As in the past Congresses, you may apply for any spot of the list except for spot number 1, which is left vacant and assigned to the Whip appointed by the Party Leader. Anyone who registers on this thread without specifying a particular spot is will be assumed to be applying for the highest available spot (2 or lower). I'm applying for spot 2. If your province is holding Senatorial elections this terms and you wish to run for Senator, you cannot apply for any spot higher than 11. I'll keep a tally on the roster below: - Pinátsch, Sevastáin (2)
- Carschaleir, Tric'hard (3)
- da Fhöglha, Lupüc (4)
- da Fhamul, Renalt (5)
- da Schir, Lüc (11)
- da Lhiun, Magniloqueu Épiqeu (12)

Awesome. The list is starting to look pretty solid.

How can two persons at the same time apply for the same spot on the list?

The list order is not whoever calls dibs first gets the spot. If two persons apply for spot 5, there will be a vote and the person who doesnt get the spot will get spot 6.

That would make so much sense, if it were so. "First come, first serve!" and so on.

I bet we did it last time as well. Five of us applied for spot #2 (I was appointed to #1 as Whip by Glüc), and after voting the ranking became Lüc - Alex - Edward - Adam - Epic, with Adam dropping out when the Congress was already finished and Edward resigning after two Clarks.

What now? If A and B applied for spot #2, A will get #2 and B will get #3, but there's an applicant C for #3 as well, should we hold another vote between B and C and whoever wins gets #3?

Well, I guess there's a chance one of those 3 is going to become Cosa list leader and get spot 1, but if not, well yeah. This doesnt require an extra vote though, the party members will just be asked to rank the three candidates and from the ballots both votes can be calculated.

Renalt da Fhamul Magniloqueu Épiqeu da Lhiun Lupulüc "Lupüc" da Fhöglha Tric'hard CarschaleirIt's up to you of course, but I would advice against avoiding competition by all picking different spots. First of all, I believe that usually the members being able to determine the list order might be an incentive for positive competition (as long as we all stay friendly of course). More practical reason though: Suppose someone retracts, is rejected, or (much more like) appointed Cosa List Leader. Suddenly we now have a hole in the candidate list, which is no problem, but will lead to an uneven distribution of seats. There is nothing wrong with going for the best spot. First come first serve is not a right. Two persons applying for the same spot does NOT reduce your chances of getting on the list. (It only makes the vote a bit more complicated I guess. )
